Hi there! I just wanted to introduce myself and give my thoughts on the site. As well as a few suggestions. I don't actually do this too often. But I figured, why not.
First off. I go by Gia (g-ah) online, when I'm not known by only a characters name. I've been role-playing for a good 10 + years now, have owned quite a few sites, and have helped as Co-admin or mod on countless others. So. That's my RP profile in a nutshell.
Second. If this sounds rude or mean, I'm really sorry in advance. I don't like seeming like I'm either of the above. I'm actually quite friendly and nice, so please don't be offended if I say something... offensive. Because I don't mean it to be that way.
Now. Onto what I'm really posting for.
Are you guys new at being admins on sites like this? I'm only asking because you don't seen to quite know your way around. Well. Mostly. Anyway. I'm just curious.
And I'd love to help out if you'd let me. I'm still new to V5, like most people are at this point, but I've fiddled around with it a bit and I know my way around the controls. So I could help out if your not sure how to do something. Like, I can try to walk you through the process if you don't want another admin or mod or whatever.
Suggestion-wise. Do you have membergroups made up for each type of character? If not, you should work on that. I can easily make you a list of the membergroups you should have for this type of site, as well as this particular setting.
Also. You should have a template made up for dealing with profiles. When you accept a character, you should post in the application saying so and provide links to anything else that needs to be done before role-playing. Such as face claims (so people don't end up with the same one), housing claims (for people to get personalized boards for their characters house), and maybe a claims list for pet names (as we don't want a bunch of people running around naming their owls the same thing).
I could probably go on but I don't want to seen like I'm complaining. It's a lovely site, really. I love that it's set in America, that the house namesakes are original, and that each house has their bad traits. It's great to not have one house that seems to be inherently bad, like with Slytherin. So good job there, for sure.
Anyway. I have to get back to work. So I'll check in again later.
And it's lovely to meet you guys!
